Jochen Silvetti-Schmitt, Associate

Jochen began work with HBRA Architects in 1994 as an intern while studying at IIT, returning in 2007, and was elevated to Associate in 2018. Since joining HBRA, he has contributed to the design, development and realization of a range of key projects that include libraries, science and academic buildings, federal courthouses, campus master planning, feasibility studies and private residences. Jochen has cultivated a depth of experience with complex projects for renovation and new construction, recently including the new Jenkins and Nanovic Halls at the University of Notre Dame, and the Alderman Library Renewal at the University of Virginia.

Prior to moving to the U.S. from Germany in 2007, Jochen worked for Frowein & Loeffler Architects, later independently realizing smaller scale projects and several prize-winning architectural competitions. Jochen graduated from the University of Stuttgart in Germany with a Master of Architecture and Urban Design. He is a registered Architect in the State of Baden Wuerttemberg, Germany and is NCARB certified.
