745 Fifth Avenue

The 35-story Squibb Building, located at the southeast corner of Central Park, required comprehensive renovation with specific attention to the redevelopment of existing street-level retail areas. It was important to the development team to accomplish this while maintaining the building's original 1929 Art Deco character. A new marble and granite facade replaced the first six levels of existing limestone cladding, and enhanced the legibility of the building within the streetscape. Storefronts of ornamental stainless steel, bronze, and marble create a dramatic retail showcase befitting this well-known site.
