Private Residence, Long Island Sound

This house is sited so as to take full advantage of its waterfront location with spectacular light and views. The overall form of the house is derived from the Shingle Style which was common to the region in the latter part of the nineteenth century. The principal organizing element of the plan is the central stair tower, which functions as the primary circulation point. The major entry sequence is through the stair tower, with access to all levels through this daylight-flooded space.
