Kline Chemistry Laboratory Renovation, Yale University

This gut-renovation of a chemistry laboratory dating from 1964 created state-of-the-art science research labs within a building originally designed to accommodate now-outmoded configurations. Project scope included program verification, replacement of all building systems and finishes, new core additions and exterior glazing as well as life safety upgrades. Energy reduction strategies included the use of high-performance hoods, heat recovery systems and fan-wall technology, and the building received a LEED gold rating, contributing to the University's goals for significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
